Dental Bonding

dental bondingDental bonding is a procedure where tooth-colored composite resin is applied to a decayed, chipped, discolored, or fractured tooth to restore the tooth’s appearance and function. It is a cosmetic alternative to amalgam fillings, which can also allow your teeth to appear longer. (More on Dental Bonding)

Cosmetic Contouring

Also known as enameloplasty or tooth reshaping, cosmetic contouring is a procedure that fixes minor imperfections by removing some of the tooth’s enamel to change the shape or length of the tooth. (More on Cosmetic Contouring)

Crowns and Bridges

Crowns and most bridges are fixed prosthetic devices. Dental crowns are used to cover a damaged tooth, strengthening it and improving its appearance or shape. A crown can also be used as an artificial tooth replacement supported by a dental implant. Dental bridges may also be supported by implants and are recommended for patients missing one or more teeth. Restoring these gaps caused by missing teeth prevents the remaining teeth from shifting and tilting into empty spaces. (More on Dental Crowns and Bridges)

Specialty Dentures

Specialty dentures are the more affordable alternative to dental implants to fill in the gaps caused by missing teeth. Though they commonly last three to five years, they may be a good choice if you need to fill missing tooth spaces quickly and comfortably. (More on Specialty Dentures)

Cosmetic Fillings

fillingsAlso known as tooth-colored fillings, cosmetic fillings are white dental fillings that are made to closely match your natural tooth color and appearance. Unlike amalgam fillings, these blend with your natural teeth. As a result, they can also be used to improve the size or shape of your tooth, close any gaps in between, and repair a chipped tooth. Dental Implants

Dental implants are metal posts which your dentist will surgically position into the jawbone. Once integrated with the jawbone, your dentist will place the replacement tooth, bridge, or denture onto them. Unlike conventional dentures, implant-supported dentures do not come loose, preventing embarrassing situations. They also improve your oral health as they do not need to be anchored to other teeth, like conventional bridges, or wear down the gum or bone beneath over time. (More on Dental Implants)

Dental Veneers

Veneers are thin shells made from porcelain or composite resin to hide stains on teeth, cover chipped teeth, or fill gaps between your teeth. In addition to recreating the natural look of your tooth, they provide strength and resilience similar to that of natural tooth enamel. (More on Dental Veneers)

Tooth Whitening

Tooth whitening is a cosmetic dental procedure that lightens the tooth’s enamel to remove stains and discoloration. While having the procedure performed at the dentist’s office promises better and quicker results, we offer special at-home tooth whitening solutions that are customized to meet your needs and supplement your oral hygiene habits. (More on Tooth Whitening)

Dental Sealants

Dental sealants are plastic coatings placed on the chewing surface of the molars and pre-molars to prevent decay. They protect the grooved and pitted areas in your mouth, preventing bacteria in plaque from attacking the enamel. Grand View Family and Cosmetic Dentistry highly recommends this service for children as well as for adults who are at a higher risk of dental caries. (More on Dental Sealants)

Root Canal Therapy

Tooth Extraction

Tooth extraction is the process of removing a tooth from the mouth. This procedure may be recommended if a broken or damaged tooth cannot be fixed with a filling, crown, or other restorative dental treatment. Depending on your case and the condition of your damaged tooth, Dr. Stephen Moore DDS will recommend either local anesthetic, or a form of sleep dentistry for your procedure. (More on Tooth Extraction)

Dental Scaling and Root Planing

Dental scaling and root planing are common methods recommended to reverse gum disease which is caused by inflammation of the gums which can affect the teeth and supporting bone. Dental scaling entails using manual dental instruments and/or ultrasonic instruments to eliminate plaque, bacteria, tartar, and biofilm from the tooth surface below gum line. Root planing involves filing down the root surface so that it’s smooth and plaque and bacteria will have a harder time clinging to the tooth. This will reduce the inflammation of the gum tissue and allow the area to heal. (More on Dental Scaling and Root Planing)

Dentures

Dentures are replacement teeth which are custom-made to fill the gaps left by missing teeth. Though they are not permanent like dental implants, they immensely improve your appearance and smile. They also help you look younger as they will prevent your facial muscles from sagging. (More on Dentures)

Cosmetic Dentistry
